Who We Are

diiVe eliminates the yawn of commonplace internships. We’re a smart, empathetic, ambitious team who are passionate about working with purpose-led individuals to change the world.

Who We Are For

We’re for university students and graduates across all majors and academic years that are driven to impact global economies. diiVers are passionate, hardworking and empathetic individuals with international and leadership experience, a thirst for adventure and a deep-seated desire to bring about social good. No previous consulting experience is required.

Why We Exist

We create ripples of meaning in the lives of young people by helping you apply your talent, mind, ambition and passion to the legacy landscape of tomorrow.

How We Do It

Driven by our passion for developing young people and superpowers in connecting career paths to purpose, we provide talented university students with the knowledge, skills and global experience required to thrive in our changing world.

What We Do

Based in Cape Town, we provide purpose-led global internship programs, in-person and remotely. We embark on client-facing consulting projects with collaborative, empathetic and ambitious students and partners - in pursuit of high-impact solutions.

The Challenge

As the world shifts, we are emerging with constant uncertainty. Our Gen Z’s are impacted by global disruption more than any other generation, resulting in high stress, anxiety, as well as a fierce determination to drive radically positive change. We get it. Entering the workforce, there exists an unparalleled need for impact, which extends to our up-and-coming generational careers, where purpose is prioritized and the demand for increased flexibility and humanness are the norm.

At the same time, a global war for talent rages. Employers struggle to hire graduates with the right mindset, skills and experience to meet the demands of the future; while university students lack the soft, hard, digital and real-world skills that are prerequisites for the new way of working.

This is where we come in. We close the gap between college and career, so that students gain the experience, confidence, and clarity to apply their talents, passion and ambition in order to pursue their purpose. The challenge ends with us.

The Solution

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, we provide purpose-led experiential learning through high-impact, hands-on, client-facing consulting internships for smart, empathetic and ambitious students — in-person and online.

The structure of diiVe is unique and hands-on. We strategically place you in a team of peers and a client. From day one, you hit the ground running with your project mentor, who will guide you as you research your client and the project they’ve assigned to you, ideate on solutions, interview stakeholders, and eventually present a final project over the course of 5 weeks.

Driven by our passion for developing young people and superpowers in connecting career paths to purpose, we provide top-tier university students with the knowledge, skills and global experience required to thrive in the new world of work. Through personal and professional development that extends beyond the program and into a diverse global community, we help students gain the confidence, clarity, agency and network to pursue work that matters and, ultimately, shapes the future.

Living Purpose

At the heart of our program is finding out what makes students’ tick, what makes them come alive, their reason for being: their personal purpose. This means that, in addition to professional development; purpose coaching, leadership development and individual mentorship are woven through every program.

What students discover is that diiVe is an experience that extends far beyond an internship or a tick on their CV. The extra “I” in diiVe is a clue to how it invites a deeper understanding of themselves, the world, the part they can play in it, and the way they want to live, work, and contribute towards building a better one. On purpose.

From Vision to Realisation

Our Co-Founder's Story

Driving societal impact and global communities has always been a passion of mine. After completing my degree at Brown University, I worked for several years in the nonprofit space with organizations committed to driving positive change. I transitioned into leadership development and consulting, working with leaders across sectors that were struggling to adapt to a rapidly evolving digital future; one that required a new set of knowledge, skills and expansive ways of working in order to solve the global complex challenges of today.

My uncovering was simply this: World leaders need to work in adaptive teams, collectively innovate, connect deeply with others and leverage their knowledge in novel ways. If we were preparing our current organizational leaders for this future, who was preparing our students? As a founding member of diiVe, I am proud to know that we are at the helm of industry change, offering our students an alternative learning environment that develops their capability to build their wider impact, and their ability to lead in a more interconnected, complex digital world.

Elspeth Boynton,
Executive Director and Co-founder
PASSION MEETS PERFECTION

Meet the Team

Elspeth Boynton
Co-Founder & Chief diiVer

Elspeth studied at Brown University and kick-started her career working in the non-profit space with organizations committed to driving positive change. After her Masters, she transitioned into leadership development and consulting at EY, where she worked with leaders across sectors struggling to adapt to a rapidly evolving, digital future: one that required a new set of knowledge, skills and ways of working. Elspeth continues to consult on projects that matter, mentoring women in business along the way.

Ann Lamont
Co-Founder & Coach

Ann has been working in the purpose space for over 20 years in a number of diverse capacities. She has worked in the South African NGO space creating shared purpose ecosystems in health and education. She was the CEO of Greenpeace Africa and the Executive of the African Leadership Institute. Operating in these spectrums exposed Ann to how shared purpose can be used on an international scale to drive collaboration within a shared vision.

Devon Reynolds
Program Manager

Devon Reynolds is a socially-bred Capetonian, having left the big smoke (Johannesburg) for his love of the Mother City. A BBusSci Graduate from UCT - qualified in Economics and Finance - Devon is a proud Founding Member of diiVe, devoting his career to unlocking human potential. Through his authentic leadership style, Devon has successfully traversed venture building terrain across travel, media, executive education and consulting industries. Devon’s first love is a Friday flat white from Rosetta, with the diiVe team, shooting a close second (do not tell the team!).

Koketso Morare
Business Associate

Koketso Morare is a UCT Graduate and our born-and-bred Pretoria Champion of social justice. Having joined diiVe in January 2023 as an intern, under the mentorship of Elspeth, Koketso blossomed into a year-long mentee, joining diiVe for its Summer Program as a business operations intern. Today, with her keen disposition and her unmatched desire to impact South Africa in the field of human rights, Koketso is a proud diiVe Associate, contributing to our collective value system of a purpose-driven global economy. You will never find Koketso eating chocolate (apologies diiVe team), but you may catch her on a Wednesday night devouring a book by Justice Albie Sachs.

Kim focuses on the overlapping contemporary social justice and arts histories on the continent of Africa, the US, and the Caribbean.
